Making Money by Losing Weight

Friends, I have intended for a while now to talk about quite a lot of side hustles. I've just started one and I'm out of time and too excited to blabber on with introductions. Let's get into it.

I signed up for HealthyWage! This is the ultimate savings program. Do you already know about it? Real simple: Start off by being overweight. That's me! What a cakewalk of a first qualification. I was overweight before I got an office job. Now I'm quite the fat slob. Next, go to HealthyWage (website or app) and play with the calculator to see what you could potentially win if you were to lose a certain amount of weight by a certain date. After I played with the calculator, I decided to keep it simple and bet $34 every month for six months that by the end of that half year I'd have lost 40 pounds. That's no easy feat, mind you, and they absolutely know it. That's why, after contributing a total of $204, they're going to pay me $296 (the $204 back plus $92 profit), a return on that investment of 45.1%. That's so good! What savings account in the world is offering 45% in six months? (I mean they keep the money if you fail the challenge. That's actually riskier than an actual savings account.)

Can I actually lose 40 pounds in six months? I'm starting at 225.8 pounds. They already know my starting weight. Weighing in is very easy. If you have someone to help, have them film you wearing minimal, non-baggy clothing with turned out pockets, show your front and back to prove you're not wearing a ten pound weight duct taped to your body, zero a digital scale and step on it showing your weight clearly to the camera. If you don't have anyone to help, no problem, you just need a full length mirror. Same process, you're just filming yourself in the mirror pretty much. (Read the rules and follow the verification guide to do it correctly; I had no trouble at all with my verification video. I was done in like two minutes.)

So I have to get to 185.8. I'm not going to lie. I really like food. I've tried losing weight before. I'd actually gone from 236 to 216 last year. But eventually, Thanksgiving happened, I was sent home with enough buttery carbs to feed a small army and I don't believe in throwing food away. I'm poor. I can't waste food. Also, cheesecake is delicious, especially if you haven't had it for three months. So I put some weight back on. Fast. Haven't lost it since.

Fortunately enough, though, I could not have picked a better time to try and lose weight. I've reworked my budget and adopted a life of frugality. If you've been to the store any time recently, you might have noticed that the price of food is outrageous. Easiest way to save money is just to quit eating. (Don't kill yourself, friends. Starvation is actually a disqualifying event that would kick you out of the challenge.)

And, just in case saving money and receiving the base ROI isn't enough incentive, you can actually contribute to my prize pool! Sign up for HealthyWage using my referral link and they'll add $40 to my prize if I succeed. Even better, they'll also add $40 to your prize pool! That definitely boosts the motivation to lose weight!

Now, if you're already skinny and just want to give me money because you have too much of it, you can do that too. Click here to throw money at my financial independence.

Best of luck out there on your financial journey, friends!
